AS a 53 year old Christian I have had many adventures of faith I would like to share. Several years ago I knew at some point I would have to put down in writing many of the things I have had happened even before becoming a Christian.
The first were two dreams I had at age 4 (4 is also significant in my Christian walk which I will relate later). Both dreams occurred in the home my parents were renting in a little community called Stonehurst in Sun Valley California. My brother Brian (one year younger) slept in the bed next to mine and was in both dreams.
In the first one (as I recall) a large spider crawled over my brother as he slept and stung him. Not too long after this dream my parents moved us to Grants Pass Oregon were my brother came down with pneumonia and almost died.
In the second dream as both my brother and I slept a cat and rabbit came into our room. There was cat food by one of our beds and rabbit food by the other. The cat went to the rabbit food and the rabbit went to the cat food and both started eating. then they turned into one another. Just then two ghosts came into our room, went into our closet and began running off with our chest of toys. I remember yelling at them to bring our toys back. Suddenly there was a grandfather clock at the foot of my bed. The dream ended. I cannot see into the cat and rabbit by way of life experience, however just after the dream, and before we moved to Oregon my mother became a Jehovah's Witness, a religion that does not celebrate birthdays or Christmas ( one of the ghosts). And a few years later my father was diagnosed with Sczitzophrenia and in my early teen years became recluse (the second ghost).
Up to this point you may be wondering what any of this has to do with God. I believe these dreams came from God and that the last part, about the grandfather clock was God's way o telling me that my toys (the good things of this life) would come to me in my later years. As I return to my story later I will tell of the many things that have happened leading up to where I am today, and I hope to be able to speak further of the faithfulness of the Lord as I am now in the later part of my life.
