When we first arrived in Grants Pass Oregon I recall staying with Aunt Bilye. One evening it seemed like my nose would not stop running. I was in bed and kept trying to wipe my nose dry on my sleaves, then my arms, then other parts of my pigamas. I got up and went into the living room where all the adults were. They looked at me in astonishment because I was covered in blood. Somehow I got a nose bleed not long after going to bed and was wiping it where ever I could. This seems to me upon reflection to indicate that one day I would be covered in blood, but not my own, rather the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.

The first time I remember seing the face of Jesus Christ was in Grants Pass, Oregon. For some reason all of the school children had to go to a nearby church, possibly to be picked up by parents. I had to go and remember when I was inside the church that the face of Jesus on a curtain seemed to be trying to get my attention. I do not remember noticing other art work at that time in my life.

A year later in Oregon I was on the bus home from school when the driver pulled over to let me off. She had turned on the warning lights and had the stop sign for oncoming traffic. She waved for me to cross, but I saw a jeep coming down to hill in my direction and hesitated. Suddenly the driver lost control of his jeep and slid into the red clay mud between our property and the road.
The bus driver went up the hill to drop off the rest of the students. She came back down and just as the jeep driver was using our home phone to call a tow truck she lost control of the bus ended up stuck in the mud behind the jeep. She also came up to our house to call for a tow. The school district sent out another bus to pull her out and to add to my parents disgust and dismay this one also got stuck in the mud behind the other bus and the jeep. Needless to say they all got towed before dark but it seems to me upon reflection that God had something to do with what happened.
If I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ I would not think anything of this event, however along with the dreams mentioned earlier in my last blog I see the hand of God working through the events of my life.

AS a 53 year old Christian I have had many adventures of faith I would like to share. Several years ago I knew at some point I would have to put down in writing many of the things I have had happened even before becoming a Christian.
The first were two dreams I had at age 4 (4 is also significant in my Christian walk which I will relate later). Both dreams occurred in the home my parents were renting in a little community called Stonehurst in Sun Valley California. My brother Brian (one year younger) slept in the bed next to mine and was in both dreams.
In the first one (as I recall) a large spider crawled over my brother as he slept and stung him. Not too long after this dream my parents moved us to Grants Pass Oregon were my brother came down with pneumonia and almost died.
In the second dream as both my brother and I slept a cat and rabbit came into our room. There was cat food by one of our beds and rabbit food by the other. The cat went to the rabbit food and the rabbit went to the cat food and both started eating. then they turned into one another. Just then two ghosts came into our room, went into our closet and began running off with our chest of toys. I remember yelling at them to bring our toys back. Suddenly there was a grandfather clock at the foot of my bed. The dream ended. I cannot see into the cat and rabbit by way of life experience, however just after the dream, and before we moved to Oregon my mother became a Jehovah's Witness, a religion that does not celebrate birthdays or Christmas ( one of the ghosts). And a few years later my father was diagnosed with Sczitzophrenia and in my early teen years became recluse (the second ghost).
Up to this point you may be wondering what any of this has to do with God. I believe these dreams came from God and that the last part, about the grandfather clock was God's way o telling me that my toys (the good things of this life) would come to me in my later years. As I return to my story later I will tell of the many things that have happened leading up to where I am today, and I hope to be able to speak further of the faithfulness of the Lord as I am now in the later part of my life.
